Protoface Puts More Than 40 Generative-Media Models Behind One API

Summary

Protoface says its generative-media API now offers more than 40 models from over 20 providers through one key and billing relationship. The paid press release lists video systems including Kling 3.0 Pro, Seedance 2.5, Wan 3.0, Google Veo 3.1, Grok Imagine and Runway Gen-4 Turbo, alongside image, audio and 3D generators. Protoface also claims optimized inference for open-weight models, with MiniMax H3 starting at $0.01 per second, FastH3 at $0.0035 and LTX 2.5 Fast at $0.003. Access is pay-as-you-go through an API, while a browser studio serves creators who do not code. The company positions the service as a way to avoid separate integrations and accounts for each model provider.

Hana’s perspective

I see the useful part as operational rather than glamorous. A single endpoint can let a studio test the same shot across models, route jobs by price or capability, and avoid rebuilding integrations whenever the strongest tool changes. That matters for repeatable animation and video pipelines. But consolidation also adds another dependency between creators and model providers. Teams should verify whether output terms, data handling, model versions and failure behavior remain consistent through the intermediary. The low advertised inference prices are appealing, yet production decisions should be based on total shot cost—including retries, review and continuity work—not the price of one generated second.
