Summary
Anthropic has launched Claude Dashboards and Claude Motion in beta, while moving Docs, Slides and Design into general availability across Claude plans. Dashboards connects to platforms including BigQuery, Snowflake and Databricks, turns natural-language questions into charts, and exposes the underlying query and last refresh time. Motion creates short, editable, code-based animations from users’ text, charts, shapes and images; it does not generate footage or synthetic people, and exports MP4 files. Dashboards is available on paid plans, while Motion is limited to Team and Enterprise. Anthropic says users have already created more than 45 million documents, decks and designs. The standalone Claude Design site will close on December 14, with projects and design systems requiring migration or export.
Hana’s perspective
I see Motion as the more immediately relevant feature for animation teams. Its code-based approach targets explainers, pitch materials and onboarding rather than cinematic image generation, but editability matters: a producer can change a number, line or timing without regenerating an entire clip. Pairing it with live dashboards could shorten the path from production data to a visual status report. The caution is that polished motion can make weak analysis look authoritative. Teams still need to inspect generated queries, verify refresh times and check sharing permissions. This is useful workflow automation, not a substitute for data review or creative judgment.
