DOKAI Takes AI-Built Characters and Interactive IP to ACFM 2026

Summary

Korean AI creative studio DOKAI will present an original-IP slate at Asian Contents & Film Market 2026 in Busan from October 10–13. Its projects include LUA, a mockumentary about actors and influencers in the AI era; Chaebigol, a children’s animation inspired by Korean folklore; and DOKKYUBIT, a web-variety format built around an in-house AI character. The company also plans to show a teaser for interactive video The Trojan War, a 2026 government-supported project targeted for completion in November. DOKAI says its internal workflow spans planning, AI production, hybrid live-action shoots and post-production, and that it is seeking platform, producer and brand partnerships. Previous work includes AI-assisted feature Pantheon, hybrid film One More Dopamine and commercial and media-art projects.

Hana’s perspective

I think DOKAI’s broad slate exposes the real commercial question for AI studios: not whether they can make a striking clip, but whether they can build characters and formats that survive across films, web shows, exhibitions and licensed work. The mix of in-house development, live-action integration and post-production is more credible than treating generation as a standalone service. Still, nearly every performance claim here comes from the company, and festival booths are built to attract partners. The useful evidence will arrive after ACFM: distribution deals, repeat audiences and transparent production credits. A sustainable AI-content business needs durable rights and recognizable authorship, not just faster output.
