Summary
South Korean generative-AI production company MooAm presented seven “AI hybrid” original properties at a September 18 showcase and conference at Seoul’s Dongdaemun Design Plaza. The company says each project was packaged beyond a written pitch, with materials spanning scripts, previsualization, trailers and pilot footage. The slate includes three in-house projects—Natasha, Disturbance of the Senses and Hoori Expedition—plus four works being developed with Corpus Korea, Code Crayon and Studio Stand. Ten content-investment and production specialists assessed commercial and international potential, and the report says some partnership discussions began at the event. MooAm plans to pursue investment, co-production and distribution through markets including BCWW and ACFM, while moving its own feature, No-Transformation Zone, into production.
Hana’s perspective
I see this as a more credible use of generative AI than presenting a few polished clips as a finished production system. MooAm is using AI inside the expensive, uncertain development stage, where a script, previs and pilot can help partners judge a project before committing full budgets. The real test is what survives the move from showcase materials to long-form production: character continuity, rights clearance, repeatable art direction and the ability to revise scenes under production pressure. Packaging can make an idea investable, but it does not remove those execution risks. If even one of these projects reaches distribution, it will offer better evidence for the hybrid model than seven promising demos.
