ChatGPT Adds Model-Generated Interactive Interfaces

Summary

OpenAI has introduced an adaptive visual layer in ChatGPT that lets its GPT-6 models decide when a response should become an interactive tool rather than remain plain text. Depending on the request, ChatGPT can generate clickable charts, tables, buttons, forms, calculators, maps, timelines and simple games directly inside a conversation. OpenAI’s examples include a bill splitter, retirement calculator, road-trip map and cooking schedule. The feature launched October 7 for Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise accounts using GPT-6 Sol, followed by free accounts using Luna on October 8; enterprise administrators control activation. Dedicated work and coding models are unchanged. OpenAI also claims its Instant variant begins responses about 44% faster than the previous generation for web-search questions.

Hana’s perspective

This is a meaningful interface shift: the model is no longer only choosing words, but choosing how users manipulate the answer. For creative production, the same idea could turn planning prompts into editable shot schedules, budget calculators, reference boards or interactive story structures without leaving the conversation. That convenience also raises a quality question. A polished interface can make weak assumptions feel authoritative, so creators still need visible sources, editable logic and clear boundaries between generated presentation and verified information.
