Summary
South Korean drama channel HighlightTV has opened an AI video advertising contest built around the theme of imagining oneself through AI. Entries are due October 27 in either 16:9 advertising or 9:16 short-form categories, and creators may enter both. The competition offers 10 million won in total prizes and plans to select about 11 winners, including a 3 million won grand prize. Entries must be at least FHD, include the HighlightTV logo and disclose AI production. Rights violations can disqualify a work. Winning videos are due to be announced October 30, broadcast on the channel, and their creators may receive preference in HighlightTV hiring.
Hana’s perspective
I like that the judging criteria do not reduce AI work to technical novelty. Asking for a personal narrative, emotional clarity and natural brand integration gives entrants a creative problem rather than a prompt-engineering demonstration. The required AI disclosure and rights rules are equally important, especially because winning work may be broadcast. The hiring preference also makes this more than a prize exercise: it tests whether a broadcaster sees AI-video literacy as a practical production skill. Organizers should still make ownership terms easy to understand before creators submit.
