Maxon Adds AI Relighting and Agent Workflows to Its 2027 Creative Suite

Summary

Maxon has released the 2027.0 versions of Cinema 4D, ZBrush, Redshift, Red Giant and Autograph. Cinema 4D adds procedural scattering and secondary liquid effects; ZBrush gains an integrated UV editor; and Redshift receives memory and interaction improvements. The AI-specific additions include Red Giant’s depth-aware Scene Light for relighting footage and an MCP server in Autograph that can connect supported AI agents to native application tools. Maxon says the tools became available on October 14, 2026.

Hana’s perspective

I see the important change as controllable automation rather than one-click generation. Scene Light keeps relighting inside an editable compositing workflow, while Autograph’s MCP server lets agents operate native tools without removing the artist from the loop. That is a more credible production model than replacing craft with opaque outputs. The announcement is vendor-supplied, so performance and reliability still need independent testing.
