Ultimate Engine CoPilot V2 Adds In-Editor Building and Testing for Unreal

Summary

BlueprintsLab has released Ultimate Engine CoPilot V2, an AI plugin that operates inside Unreal Engine 5.7 and 5.8 on Windows and macOS. In a company press release, the two-person developer says the rebuild exposes 1,655 native tools across 37 extensions and can create Blueprints, C++, VFX, animation and Sequencer cinematics. It can also compile changes, run automated and multiplayer play tests, profile performance, convert Blueprints to C++, and present edits through Unreal’s diff and undo systems. Users may connect hosted models, their own API keys or local models. BlueprintsLab claims more than 3,400 developers use the plugin. Pricing starts at $25 per month, with a roughly $200 one-time license also offered.

Hana’s perspective

I think the important promise is not code generation but verification inside the editor. An agent that can compile, play-test and show diffs is more useful to production teams than one that merely proposes Blueprint nodes. The claims here come from BlueprintsLab’s press release, so studios should test reliability on representative projects before trusting the advertised autonomy or performance. Human review remains essential for gameplay, visual direction and maintainability. Still, support for local models, source control and reversible edits points toward a practical pattern for AI-assisted real-time production: let agents execute bounded tasks, then make their changes inspectable rather than asking creators to accept a black box.
