Xi’an Studio Partners With Congolese Producer on AI Short Dramas

Summary

Shaanxi Jinlin Film says it has partnered with Congolese entrepreneur Ying Yong to make AI-generated live-action-style short dramas for overseas audiences. The Xi’an company reports a 30-person workflow spanning scripts, generation, post-production and review, with monthly capacity of 500–600 minutes. The partners have released titles including Golden Sun Warrior, Unboxing Birth Rite and Under the Iron Fist, initially targeting African markets. Jinlin says the partnership combines its production pipeline with Ying Yong’s language and cultural knowledge; audience and revenue results were not disclosed.

Hana’s perspective

I find the localization partnership more useful than the volume claims. Pairing an experienced production team with a Congolese partner could help avoid simply translating Chinese storytelling templates for African audiences. But the figures on output, views and market size come from the company or local promotional reporting. The projects’ audience response and production economics still need independent evidence.
