Kling AI reportedly explores a $1 billion Hong Kong IPO

Summary

Kuaishou’s AI video unit Kling is reportedly preparing a Hong Kong initial public offering that could raise at least $1 billion as soon as 2027. MSN China and Sina Finance relay reports citing unnamed people familiar with the talks; both say the discussions, timing and offering size may change. The reports identify CICC, Goldman Sachs and UBS as banks working on the deal, while Kuaishou or Kling did not confirm the plan. Kling raised nearly $3 billion in July at a reported post-money valuation of about $18 billion. Kuaishou’s disclosed results put Kling revenue above 850 million yuan in the second quarter of 2026, more than double a year earlier. The saved reports also describe further state-fund investment and competition from ByteDance’s Seedance and other Chinese video-generation companies.

Hana’s perspective

I would not treat an IPO report as proof that Kling’s business is ready for public markets. The disclosed revenue growth is relevant to animation and video teams because it suggests paid demand for generation tools. The proposed separation from Kuaishou could also change product priorities and pricing. Until the company confirms the filing or bankers publish formal documents, creators should read the report as a possible financing path—not a settled endorsement of AI video economics.
