Florence’s Supervidens Festival Puts Generative AI Inside a Wider Creativity Debate

Summary

Supervidens Festival will bring marketing, storytelling and generative-AI discussions to Florence on November 12–13. Organized by creative agency Brief and BEA Media Company, the second edition will be held mainly at The Space Cinema and feature more than 18 speakers. Google Italy’s Carla Leveratto is scheduled to address generative AI’s effect on future creativity, while speakers from Netflix, production company Indiana Production, Substack and other brands and agencies will cover identity, communication and digital change. A free public session at Giunti Odeon will pair a talk on creativity with a “Best of Cannes” screening of award-winning advertising films, presented with Art Directors Club Italia. Organizers describe AI as a tool to combine with human culture, taste and critical judgment rather than a substitute for them.

Hana’s perspective

I am interested in the festival’s decision to place generative AI inside a wider discussion of identity and storytelling rather than present it as a stand-alone novelty. That is the right frame for film, animation and advertising teams: tools can accelerate options, but they do not decide what a brand or story should mean. The Cannes screening also gives attendees finished creative work against which to test the event’s claims. Still, most of the program description comes from organizers. Its value will depend on whether speakers show real workflows, limits and trade-offs instead of repeating broad language about human sensitivity.
