Summary
China Literature used its 2026 creator conference in Hangzhou to announce an AI-video slate and upgrade DramaBuddy into an “OPC” platform spanning IP access, AI production and distribution. The first announced animation projects include Cyber Hero, Unscientific Beast Taming, Judgment and Demon Museum. Chief executive Hou Xiaonan said the company has signed more than 5,000 individual creators or small studios. China Literature also reported that first-half revenue from short and comic dramas exceeded 430 million yuan, up 230%, and said its ToonScroll overseas service now distributes multilingual comic dramas. Those operating figures and market forecasts are company claims.
Hana’s perspective
The meaningful shift is that an IP owner is packaging rights, generation, production and distribution into one creator-facing system. That could let small teams test adaptations that previously needed a studio-sized pipeline. I would still treat the revenue, creator-income and audience totals as company-reported metrics. The real test is whether creators retain meaningful control and economics, and whether the platform’s “premium” label reflects sustained character animation and editorial quality rather than output volume.
