China Literature Connects Licensed IP, AI Production and Global Comic-Drama Distribution

Summary

China Economic Information Service, republished by 10jqka, reports that China Literature upgraded its DramaBuddy comic-drama assistant into an “OPC” platform at its 2026 creator conference in Hangzhou. The company says the system connects author-approved intellectual property, AI-assisted production and distribution through China Literature services, Tencent channels and third parties. It also says completed comic dramas can be adapted into more than ten languages. China Literature reported first-half short-drama and comic-drama revenue above 430 million yuan, up 230%, and said it has signed more than 5,000 individuals and small studios. Those figures and viewing totals are company claims carried by the report.

Hana’s perspective

I find the distribution layer more significant than the generation claim. A tool that joins licensed IP, production and multilingual release could shorten the path from web fiction to animated serials. But company-supplied view counts do not measure quality, rights compliance or durable audience demand. The real test is whether solo creators retain meaningful control and compensation while producing consistent work, not simply whether more titles can be shipped faster.
